Gastronomic Products of La Laguna

  • Wrinkled Potatoes with Mojo

One of the most emblematic dishes of La Laguna and all of the Canary Islands are the wrinkled potatoes with mojo. The potatoes are boiled in water with salt until the skin wrinkles, and then served with mojo, a spicy sauce made with peppers, garlic, cumin, vinegar, and olive oil. This dish is a popular accompaniment for meats and fish.

  • Gofio

Gofio is a staple food in the Canarian diet and is used in a variety of dishes. It is an unrefined flour made from toasted grains, usually wheat or corn, and sometimes mixed with almonds and other ingredients. Gofio can be used to make bread, cookies, soups, stews, and desserts.

  • Goat Cheese

La Laguna is famous for its goat cheese, which is produced on local farms. The cheese can be fresh or cured, and is often served with honey or jam to highlight its flavor. Some of the most popular goat cheeses in the area include flor cheese, media flor cheese, and curd cheese.

  • Wines from the Tacoronte-Acentejo Designation of Origin

La Laguna is located in the Tacoronte-Acentejo wine region, which is known for its excellent red wines. The wines from this region are characterized by their aromatic intensity and balanced taste.
